Hi, I'm Petra, a musician born in the Mediterranean city of Pula, within walking distance from one of the biggest and best-kept Roman amphitheaters. The history of Pula dates back to ancient times and is well known for its natural harbor, mild climate, and wine-making.
My musical journey began at the age of four when a violin teacher discovered my good ear and melodic memory. Practicing violin from such a young age helped me develop skills such as perfect pitch that would prove instrumental in my career. I have always felt that music is not just something you play, but something you become when performing. This passion led me to pursue a Master's degree in musicology at the University of Berlin, which improved my understanding of music - how it works, developed through history, and why we enjoy it.
The most memorable moments in my career so far include singing in national concert halls across Europe and Asia as a part of award-winning choirs, independently releasing my own album on vinyl, and supporting a student to the finals of The Voice Kids Germany.
The name, Petra, means "stone" in Greek, and I believe it is a testament to my patience and resilience. Moving from country to country, I carry with me the memories of places I lived in. My voice reflects the clear blue sea of Pula, the charming riverside of Ljubljana, and the international colors of Berlin.
At the end of 2019, I followed my husband to Zurich where I refined my teaching method and established myself as the city's #1 vocal coach by working with hundreds of diverse individuals with clear results.
You will often find me walking around on a starry night near the opera house, breathing in the gentle breeze from the Zurich lake and composing. I hope that my story inspires others to find joy and passion in music and own their voices,
Petra
